The 47th Primary School of Heraklion actively participated in the 1st Intensive Teachers’ Training Summer Course of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project “K12 Agile Learning of Programming with Educational Robotics (ALPER-EU)”, which took place at the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Chania, Crete.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the school principal and Scientix Ambassador, Dr. Alexandros Roniotis, delivered a presentation entitled “Build your STEM School Profile: The STEM School Label”. During his presentation, he introduced the European STEM School Label framework, highlighting its role in supporting schools in the systematic development of STEM education and sharing the experience of the 47th Primary School of Heraklion as the first school in Greece to receive the STEM School Label from European Schoolnet.
Later that day, Dr. Alexandros Roniotis participated in the Round Table on Innovative Digital Tools for Agile Learning and Programming, which was open to all primary and secondary education teachers. Discussions focused on the exchange of good practices, the challenges faced by educators when implementing innovative approaches to teaching programming and educational robotics, and the opportunities offered by emerging digital technologies in modern classrooms.
Teachers of our school, Maria Christoforidou, Maria Dramitinou and Evdoxia Tamiolaki, also attended the event, engaging in fruitful discussions and exchanging experiences with educators, researchers and educational stakeholders from Greece and other European countries.
Our participation in the ALPER-EU project strengthens the school’s ongoing commitment to innovation, educational robotics, programming and STEM education, contributing to the creation of a modern, creative and inclusive learning environment for all students.
