The 47th Primary School of Heraklion participated in the Kick-off Meeting of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project “K12 Agile Learning of Programming with Educational Robotics (ALPER-EU)”, hosted by the University of Malta, marking the beginning of an exciting European collaboration in the fields of programming education and educational robotics.
The participation of our school in this project reflects its long-standing commitment to innovation, STEM education and international cooperation. The school's active involvement in European STEM initiatives, as well as the participation of its Principal, Dr. Alexandros Roniotis, in the Scientix Ambassadors network, contributed significantly to its selection as a project partner.
ALPER-EU brings together eight organizations from five European countries under the coordination of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University. The project aims to develop an innovative framework for teaching programming through Agile learning methodologies and educational robotics activities.
Throughout the project, partners will collaborate on the development of educational curricula, teacher training activities, digital tools for measuring student engagement, robotics and programming workshops, as well as international dissemination and networking events.
For our school, participation in ALPER-EU represents a unique opportunity to enhance students’ digital skills, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving abilities, while strengthening our connection with the wider European educational community.
