During the 2023-2024 school year, our school became a member of the Network of European Blue Schools. A European Blue School brings the ocean into the classroom. It’s a school, which through project-based learning, engages students with marine- and maritime-related topics to create awareness and a feeling of responsibility for our ocean. In 2023-24 the school participates in the educational project Sea is Life (η θάλασσα είναι ζωή) to inform and raise awareness among children aged 6-12 about the marine environment and the need to protect it. Through various activities, students learn about biodiversity, the natural processes of the seas, and the risks they face from human activity, while at the same time, they cultivate their environmental awareness and their love for the marine environment.
As part of the "Sea is life" program, the students of Δ3 and E3 classes present you a video/documentary about the marine ecosystem of our home town, the dangers it faces, and some ideas for its protection.
