Icelanders, on Christmas Eve, instead of gifts, exchange books, Jolabokaflod or "Christmas book flood".

The award-winning educational portal ELNIPLEX, inspired by the wonderful custom of Icelanders, organized and spread the idea. We in the 47th Primary School of Heraklion, on December 21 make the book a celebration, we strengthen the light of the darkest night, giving books (Secret Santa ….only books) and drinking hot chocolate.

Throughout the last week, we organize with the participation of various departments of the school, interactive book readings with favorite Christmas stories.
