Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA122 project (2024-1-EL01-SCH-000223545) entitled “Breaking Stereotypes: Inclusive STEAM Education for a Brighter Tomorrow”, three teachers from the 47th Primary School of Heraklion participated in a job shadowing mobility at Agrupamento de Escolas de Alcanena in Portugal.
The mobility aimed at observing innovative teaching practices that combine inclusive education, differentiated instruction, and ICT integration within a STEAM-oriented learning environment.
During the week, the participating teachers observed classroom practices, collaborated with Portuguese colleagues, and engaged in co-design activities focused on lesson planning and evaluation strategies. Through initiatives such as the “Happy School Project” and the “Bee Project”, they explored methodologies that promote students’ self-regulation, emotional awareness, autonomy, and creative expression.
Particular emphasis was placed on building a positive and stimulating school climate, where learning is closely connected to students’ emotional well-being and differentiated experiences tailored to their individual needs.
This job shadowing experience provided a valuable opportunity for professional growth, exchange of good practices, and international collaboration. The knowledge and strategies acquired will be integrated into our school’s daily practice, further strengthening our commitment to inclusive and innovative STEAM education.
