On Thursday, February 8, the 5th grade classes visited the port of Heraklion and Nikos Kazantzakis Airport. The children visited a ship of the Minoan lines (Knossos Palace) where they entered the captain's bridge and were informed by the crew about their responsibilities as well as the operation of the ship.
Then, they visited the airport, and were guided around its premises (departures/arrivals hall as well as the runway to fully observe the take-off/landing runways). Afterwards, all the students boarded an aircraft from our local airline Sky Express. Finally, they were informed about the duties of a pilot while also visiting the cockpit.
The kids and teachers had a fantastic time!
